Where's My Hair?

This past Sunday, we had Rayan's mundan. It is a Hindu ceremony for the first haircut. It is believed that shaving the hair rids the child of his past life's negativity. We decided to get a buzz cut for Rayan instead of 'shaving' his head. It got a lot shorter than we expected! Rayan was pretty good but he did cry a lot! I think it was more from the stranger that was cutting his hair than from the buzzing of the clippers. We are still getting used to little Ry's new look. He looks so much older now! The picture above is when I asked Rayan, "Where's your hair Rayan?"

We had a small ceremony at the temple where the priest cut several strands of Ry's hair.

Ticonderoga Farms

Yesterday we went to Ticonderoga Farms with Rayan's friends, Aidrek, Devan, Kadyn and Kamran. Hema Auntie planned the trip to the farm for an Easter egg hunt. Before going, we went to Kamran's house for brunch where Ry played with Maya, Kadyn and Devan. It was a great time!

A couple of nights ago, P Diddy performed on American Idol. Rayan loved it!

Devan's Annaprasan

This past Saturday was Devan's Annaprasan (first solid feeding ceremony). It was a great time and the guest of honor was all smiles! Rayan did pretty good, considering the party was during nap time.

Walking and Talking

The past several weeks Ry has been becoming more of little boy than a baby! He is loving the warmer weather and wants to go outside to play all the time. He is talking more and more, but mostly still in his own language. This video is us going for a family walk one evening when Rayan was especially talkative!

Chai with Cousins

Today we had my cousins over for 'chai'. Rayan got to play with his cousins Alisha and Nyla! Rayan is in a 'Mommy' stage right now, so he was super jealous every time I was holding Nyla. Here he is hugging my leg, while I am trying to play with my new niece!

Snuggies and Car Seats

Rayan loves his chair that Amita Auntie and Vic Uncle got him a while back. He doesn't actually sit in though. He usually uses it to climb on and over. We had to move it against the wall because he kept tipping it over! Lately I have noticed that he sorta sits on it but just on the arm rests. Daring little boy!

Rayan loves blankets. They have been his security item since he was about 6 months old. He has a specific Pottery Barn Kids blanket he loves. We have a VT Snuggie and Ry loves it! He snuggles with it, chews on it and tries to walk with it (usually results in him tripping because its so big!) He is here snuggling with it and watching his favorite show, Sesame Street.


Since I drop and pick up Ry from daycare we haven't really gotten around to putting a new car seat in Piyush's car. Couple of weeks ago, I needed Piyush to drop Ry off, and he pulled out the infant car seat. I got a kick out of how HUGE Ry looked in his seat. I guess I was laughing so much, he started cracking up too! Such a cutie.
