And we're back!

I have been a bad blogger the past couple of weeks! One of our computers broke, I went out of town for a couple of days, and just haven't had a chance to update. Excuses, excuses! So lots has been happening with little Ry the last couple of weeks. His ear infection didn't seem to affect him much. He seemed to be his normal self...happy, playing, and now talking! Before Ry would just make noises, now he tries to talk.

We went to the Sanghani's house a couple of weekends ago for dinner and Ry got to hang out with his friends Kadyn and Kamran. He was really good most of the night, and when it was his bed time, Kamran was so sweet to let Ry borrow his crib for a couple of hours while the parents hung out.

Last weekend, I had my first nights away from Ry. I had a girls trip planned to Boston. It was lots of fun to have 'girl time' but I really did miss Ry. He stayed with his Nani & Nana on Friday night and with Daddy on Saturday. He spent a lot time with his masi's, Swati & Shweta on Saturday too! I didn't get any pics though! Here are some pics of him from the past weeks!

7 Months!!!

Rayan is 7 months old! I can't believe how time is flying! He is now sitting all time, crawls (army crawl) around really fast and follows us around the house. He is talking and is eating a lot more! He is FINALLY sleeping through the night consistently. He sleeps about 6 or 7 hours straight, but has even given us several night where he sleeps from 9 to 6! He weighs about 16 lbs now and around 26 inches tall.

Ear Infection

On Monday, Minnieland told Piyush that Ry seemed to be tugging at his ear a little bit. He always does this when he is tired, but he also had a little cold and was acting a little grumpy. So, on Tuesday evening I took Ry to the doctor. The diagnosis - ear infection in the right ear :( We caught it early so hopefully it will clear up soon. Ry seems to be himself, just a little grumpy when he is tired. Here is tonight sleeping, holding his ear. Cutie little baby, get better soon!

Weekend Fun!

This weekend was a relaxing one. I got a chance to catch up on some house work and play with my Ry! We spent some time trying to teach Ry to clap. His cousin Alisha was clapping on Rakhi, so we thought we should try. Ry just laughs when I clapped and sometimes he thinks I am giving him food, so he opens his mouth!

Piyush took the bumper of Rayan's crib and lowered it. The crib rails became a perfect place to play peek-a-boo!

On Saturday evening, we went to the Doshi's place for dinner. Ry played with Alisha and met Tiger (their dog) for the first time! I thought he would be scared of Tiger, but instead, Ry and Alisha both loved Tiger! They were crawling after him, trying to grab him. I think Ry thought Tiger was on of his stuffed animals! I forgot my camera, but here are some of Romi Masi's pictures!

Rakhi - Part 2

Today we went to Dadi and Dada's house for Rakhi with the Patel's. Daddy's sisters had to tie rakhi on him, and Ry's sister/cousin, Kareena, had to tie it on him. First up was Kareena and Ajay. Ajay was so sweet and gave his sister a kiss after she tied the rakhi.

Next, Kareena tied rakhi on Ry.

Ajay and Kareena then opened their gifts from Ry. His cousins are NY Giant's fans also!

The kids jumped around for awhile. It looks like Ry and Ajay are having a conversation in some of these pictures.

Rakhi - Part 1

Today is an Indian holiday, Rakhi. It is basically a day for brothers and sisters. Rayan has two sisters to celebrate with, both about a month older than him! We went to my aunt & uncle's place for Rakhi. My mom (Rayan's Nani) had to tie Rakhi on her brothers and that is where Ry would see his cousin / sister Alisha. On the way there, Ry was showing me his new funny face!

First stop was Nani's & Nana's place, where I tied Rakhi on Sammy.

We then headed over to the party, where on arrival the paparazzi was all over Ry!

While Nani and her sister, Usha Masi, tied rakhi on her 3 brothers, Ry had his dinner.

So, before Alisha's arrival, Ry was a little cranky. It was getting late, and closer to his bed time. As soon as he saw Alisha, another little person, he got a big smile on his face. Alisha tied the cute baby Krishna rakhi on Ry, with her mommy's help. The kids got their first taste of Indian sweets. Ry really liked the rakhi, but it eventually ended up in his mouth.

Ry opened his gifts from Alisha and from Alisha's Dadi, and then played some more!

On a side note, Ry met Caesar for the first time. Caesar is my Mona Masi's dog. He is a big dog but Ry was really good with him. I didn't get any pics though :(

Yummm - Yogurt Melts!

Ry's cousin, Alisha, was so nice and let Ry try her peach yogurt melts. Ry was surprised by the texture but really liked them! He doesn't really know how to 'chew' yet, so I had to mush them up and stick them in his mouth. This is a funny video of Ry trying to eat them!

Catching Up!

I am a little behind in posting and I have been so bad about taking pictures of Rayan! The past couple of weekends, Rayan has just been busy hanging out with family and chillin. After his 6 month shots he had a low grade fever for a couple of days. He is feeling much better now! A couple of weekends ago, Reetu and Dave came by to visit Rayan. He showed off his rolling skills while Mommy and Daddy caught up with them!

We got a Nintendo Wii a couple of weeks ago and Rayan likes to watch us playing. He especially likes it when Daddy plays tennis. This is a picture of him trying to join in on the fun!

Lately Ry is very curious about everything around him. He grabs anything and everything in sight. Especially things like remote controls, cell phones, and cameras. Looks like he following in his Daddy's footsteps! He is also very close to crawling. He still scoots to where he wants to go, but he can get on all fours and sway forward. I think his head just gets a little too heavy for him! I need to get a video of him trying to crawl, but the second the camera turns on, he stops and tries to grab it! Since he is so mobile, sometimes I need to put him in his pack 'n play while I do things around the house. He is usually good and plays by himself for at least 20 minutes before he gets restless. He is also likes playing in his bouncer.

Rayan is so curious now, he refuses to sit in his carseat / stroller when we are out. He wants to be able to see the world and sit up. We decided to try out a new stroller for him. He looked like such a big boy in it, I had to take a picture!

This is just a picture of Ry sleeping that i thought was cute. He is trying to sleep on his side in the bouncer, but he is buckled in so he couldn't turn anymore!
