July 4th

This year for Independence Day we went to Piyush's co-workers party. It was on a farm and they had awesome fireworks, a band, and yummy BBQ. It was a great time. Rayan had so much fun too. He managed to handle the heat and stay up until 10 pm to watch the fireworks. He was scared at first, but then we he heard all the people cheering and clapping he got excited. It was so cute!

Is there anything cold in there for me?

Never mind, look at all this ice I found!

My name is Rayan, I like to dance. (For you Yo Gabba Gabba watchers!)

OBX 2010 - Part 1

Summer vacation! We went to Outer Banks (Nags Head) from June 26th to July 3rd with the Sanghanis and the Groves. Ry spent the week playing with his buddies Kamran and Kieran, going to the pool, beach and out for dinners! What a great start to Rayan's 3 week long summer vacation. The 2 weeks after we get back, Ry's daycare is closed!
On the way! Starting the trip with a nap.

All smiles after his nap.

Ry sharing his new wagon with Kam for the first trip to the beach.

Enjoying the waves.

Ewwww sand is everywhere. Get me outta here!

Owwwsiiiiii

Hello again! I know it has been FOREVER since my last blog post, but life gets so busy with a toddler! These days Rayan is obsessed with going outside or how he says it 'OwwwwwSiiiii'. He goes to the basket full of his shoes, picks out his Crocs (the only shoes he will wear lately), runs to me or Piyush and says 'Shuuus' 'OwwwwwSiiii'. It is cute, but with the heat wave we had, outside has not been fun! On the weekends we always take Ry out for some fun. We take him to the park near our house, where Ry loves to climb the slide and to the pool. He loves the baby pool!

The Rest of May

May wasn't very busy for us but I was lazy updating the blog! Ry is changing every day. This past month he has been going through his 'Mommy Stage' and he has been very shy around strangers. When someone rings the door bell he runs to the door with me, but as soon as he sees the person (even if he knows them) he falls on the floor and hides his face. Hopefully he gets over it soon! Ry talks alot, but we still don't understand him. Once in a while I hear a few words I understand like poo-poo, apple, tree, car, dog and daddy. Some of them he only says after we say them. He loves to dance, sing, 'read', play catch with daddy and climb things!

Climbing his bike. Great balance!

Helping Mommy clean the floor.

Walking his dog. Thanks Mona Masi!

Oops, he fell over, let me pick him up!

Jinder Mama & Sneh Mami's 25th Anniversary

Tonight we partied at Jinder Mama & Sneh Mami's anniversary party. It was a great time! Especially seeing little Ry dressed up and looking super cute in his Indian outfit! Happy Anniversary! Oh, in the picture above, Ry is posing with a vase because that was the only way we could get him to stand still! I guess he thought it was cool.

Entertaining Kamran

The Sanghani's came over for dinner tonight and Rayan entertained Kamran by showing him EVERYTHING in the kitchen cabinets while he ate. Then he took everything out of the cabinets and started banging them on the floor. When Kamran was done with dinner, he showed him our door stoppers. What a good host we have!

Where's My Hair?

This past Sunday, we had Rayan's mundan. It is a Hindu ceremony for the first haircut. It is believed that shaving the hair rids the child of his past life's negativity. We decided to get a buzz cut for Rayan instead of 'shaving' his head. It got a lot shorter than we expected! Rayan was pretty good but he did cry a lot! I think it was more from the stranger that was cutting his hair than from the buzzing of the clippers. We are still getting used to little Ry's new look. He looks so much older now! The picture above is when I asked Rayan, "Where's your hair Rayan?"

We had a small ceremony at the temple where the priest cut several strands of Ry's hair.

Ticonderoga Farms

Yesterday we went to Ticonderoga Farms with Rayan's friends, Aidrek, Devan, Kadyn and Kamran. Hema Auntie planned the trip to the farm for an Easter egg hunt. Before going, we went to Kamran's house for brunch where Ry played with Maya, Kadyn and Devan. It was a great time!
